Awkwafina

American musician and actor Awkwafina made her debut with humorous songs that dealt with sexuality and identity with a comical wit before broadening her presence to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants, was her very first music experience. She performed on the trumpet. Later, she began hip-hop and classical training. As a student, she majored in journalism and women's studies. She even taking classes in Mandarin in Beijing for a time. It wasn't until after graduating that she switched her focus to music. In 2012 her track My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet before settling on her debut LP Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album featured other hit songs that went viral, such as the body positive Queef and a winking, hometown tour NYC BitcheUSD. The latter track was linked to her other venture, Awkwafina's NYC A travel guide that was released in the year 2015. As a musician and an author in her portfolio, she decided to began looking for a third endeavor actor. Alongside early series such as Girl Code, Tawk and Bad Rap she also appeared in film projects like Neighbors as well as Storks. In 2018, she was able to land breakthrough performances in a variety of high-profile films like Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. The EP was released in June.
